About this role

What you will be responsible for?

This position will be directly responsible for all aspects of the Core UC infrastructure – Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection (CUCN), Cisco Telepresence, and other related technologies. Senior Network UC Specialist will be working closely with Architects, Support staff, Regional Engineers, and Business Partners to ensure UC Availability and Performance meet Newmont requirements. You will build and maintain relationships across Business Units, Partners, and Vendors. As a Senior Network UC Specialist, you will travel as the need arises, both domestic and internationally and will need to maintain valid travel documents, allowing unrestricted travel to and from USA.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day-to-day will look like:

  • Management and Provisioning of all related UC on premise and Cloud-based technologies to ensure optimum performance and reliability
  • We coordinate daily UC support tickets with vendors, service providers and internal IT teams to assist with issue resolution
  • We support Site IT Operations UC infrastructure including ESX Hosts, Call Manager subscribers, voice gateways, PRI’s, IP phones, Underground phones
  • Support for all Newmont Telepresence devices, and WebEx clients
  • We craft and develop technical and functional solutions to complex UC related problems
  • Coordinate access control, custom scripts and configuration of the Uplinx Provisioning systems
  • We ensure that UC design and configuration standards are followed when creating new devices, sites and infrastructure
  • Coordinate all UC system maintenance requests and outages
  • We assist with crafting Unified Communications components and perform the installation as well as provide guidance, supervision and training
  • Advising Newmont IT Management on handling future UC capacity and other needs
  • Maintain all UC design, operations and training documentation
  • Train Site IT and Gold Bar Teams on new UC processes and procedures
  • Provide Senior Management and End User UC related training as the need arises
  • We provide high level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible timeframe
  • Develop processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments
  • We provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions
  • Maintain continuous coverage of the UC environment through OEM and third party support and maintenance agreements
  • Mentor junior engineers, and assist partnering IT teams with understanding of UC function and principles

You Training, Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of Network experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 10 years of IT experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco UC networking equipment and software, including Cloud based multi-vendor technology solutions
  • Experience coordinating enterprise UC in mission-critical, 24x7 production environments
  • 3 years related experience in UC/infrastructure/network environments and planning, documenting and implementing the latest technology
  • Good planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Experience in large scale high-availability enterprise environments
  • Demonstrable ability to tackle complex systems and network environment issues
  • Ability to understand systems at all levels, from the enterprise-level view to the low level technical view
  • Ability to effectively guide a team of engineers during complex troubleshooting events to a successful resolution in a timely manner.
  • Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a sophisticated organization to identify business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs

  • This position is located in the Denver Corporate Office

The salary range offered for this role is $85,520- 112,245. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
