About this role
What will you be responsible for?
Reporting to the Senior Regional Category Manager (Americas), the Category Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and execution of sourcing strategies for specific assigned goods and/or services categories across the region. This position will work directly with the Senior Regional Category Manager and will interact closely with key internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, end users and supply chain team members. The roles key focus includes extraction of data, conducting analysis needed to develop Category Strategies, implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, and performing various reporting requirements for the Categories led by the team.

Development of category strategies and execution of sourcing initiatives
• We provide a strong analytical ability to perform spend analysis, contracts analysis and market analysis by effectively engaging with multiple systems and data sources.
• We develop and apply business case models and documents, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models, should cost and price discipline models for assigned categories as required.
• We support the development and implementation of category procurement strategies for assigned categories for Newmont operations and projects.
• We provide data, data analysis and research to support the development of stage gate 1 of the strategic sourcing framework
• We perform single-site or multi-site strategic sourcing initiatives as per the category plan
• We provide support including commercial negotiation, execution, implementation and administration for contracts relating to the assigned categories.
• We collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders to establish and implement an effective supplier relationship management program.
• We support the development of new contracts with suppliers and coordinating legal reviews; provides commercial recommendations/modifications for existing and developing contracts according to Corporate and regional guidelines.
• We support successful adoption of the Supplier Risk Management (SRiM) program with selected strategic vendors, including but not limited to tracking suppliers’ prequalification, onboarding, management plans, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) spend management, and any other metrics specific to the vendor performance.
• We leverage supplier relationships to ensure effective responses are implemented to address changing business circumstances.
• We collaborate with operations and suppliers to provide technical assistance and project management to address operational issues relating to safety, technical support capabilities, security of supply of critical goods and services.
• We perform the tracking of cost savings realization for completed initiatives and reports according to requirements.
• We maintain awareness of market trends, conditions and changing technologies to produce market intelligence reports to go out to the business.
• We track and report category performance metrics and customer satisfaction metrics.
• We develop reports and presentations for internal stakeholders for various requirements, such as supplier performance, contractual issues, negotiations and periodic team updates.
• We make the overall corporation more effective and efficient, through an understanding of local cultural norms, political and social issues

• Work normally requires minimal physical effort.

Experience:
• Minimum of five years of experience in Supply Chain or other relevant business related field.
• Extensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, category management and spend management.
• Experience developing market intelligence, should cost models for goods and services, situated across multiple regional and global mine sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, Engineering (mining, industrial, mechanical, process, chemical, etc.) or related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; with a working knowledge of Microsoft Visio and Projects.
• Experience using and creating dashboards in PowerBI and Tableau.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong financial literacy and analytical skills, with capability to assess overall financial health of current and potential suppliers/contractors and market trends.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to influence others. Written and spoken Spanish are a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP, Ariba or equivalent ERP system is desired.
• Mining experience preferred.
• Global awareness through experience working with other cultures and people.
• Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and pay close attention to details.
• Possess high ethical and professional standards in all dealings.
Working conditions and location
Where you will be located!
The position is located in the Denver Corporate office; travel to other domestic and international sites is required. Some extended hours may be required for calls with international regions/sites.

The salary range offered for this role is $79,760 - 94,715. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
