Summer Student - CC&V

Purpose

Newmont will once again be sponsoring a student employment program for summer 2020.  The intent of this program is to provide temporary labor to CC&V by hiring college students, during summer break.  Students must be dependent children of a Newmont CC&V employee. We believe this is a great opportunity for both the departments in need of supplemental manpower during the summer months and the students who would like to earn money for college.

Essential Duties

A summer student with Newmont is an excellent way to gain skills and experience to compliment your education and further the pursuit of your career path.  With hands-on and real world experiences, Newmont provides exposure to the industry skills and knowledge you need after graduation.  We provide opportunities for you to gain valuable experience and make important networking contacts in the mining industry working alongside full-time professionals within our organization.  Our summer students will participate in a challenging team environment and have the opportunity to collaborate with several disciplines in the company.  A Newmont summer student will provide you with a phenomenal experience and give you occasion to quantify guide and achieve your goals.

Training & Experience

To be eligible, students must:

  1. Be listed as a dependent student child of a full-time CC&V employee.
  2. Be enrolled in college or a continuing education program as a full time student for fall 2020 (12 credits).
  3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  4. Have graduated from high school by spring 2020; completed at least two semesters of college or a continuing education program (24 credits) by June 2020.
  5. Be at least 18 years old by June 1, 2020
  6. Be available to work for 9-12 weeks during the summer.  The Summer Student Program ends on or before August 27, 2020.
Working Conditions

Monday through Thursday work schedule.
