Reporting to the HR Manager, you will lead the Human Resources team to provide an effective and efficient HR support to site management and leaders.

Some Key Accountabilities

  • Attract, develop, motivate and retain a quality workforce in accordance with site strategic and operating objectives
  • Analyse and provide information to managers and supervisors concerning performance of their areas for these core HR processes and provide advice around improvements
  • Develop HR staff to enable them to support the business with a timely and accurate service.
  • Develop the competencies of people to ensure they have the skills and behaviours to effectively achieve their role objectives
  • Provide best practice advice and support to management and employees in area of responsibility during disciplinary investigations, conflict resolution sessions and termination of employment.
  • Ensure site IR practices are consistent with Newmont Australia policies, strategic intent and legislative parameters
  • Seek to continually improve HR services by identifying through analysis areas for improvement to ensure practises are cost effective and efficient

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in HR / IR Business or Economics
  • Proven experience in a senior generalist role (remote mine site experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with related Employee Relations legislation
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Effective people management and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in leading a team
