As the Mine Production Superintendent at Boddington you will be responsible for safely maximising the profitability of the open pit business, and meeting budgeted targets sustainably while ensuring internal and external safety and compliance obligations are achieved.
 

Accountabilities will include

  • Ensuring weekly/monthly ore and waste delivery targets are achieved
  • Using the appropriate systems (including safety, production, quality, performance reporting) to ensure processes are place and are operating optimally.
  • Implementing and accountability for all short term mine plans.
  • Ensuring personnel are available and appropriately trained and competent to safely and efficiently perform roles and to meet planned future requirements.
  • Development, communication and delivery of the weekly mine plan.
  • Contributing to the development of NBG Operations Business Plan and developing and running the Open Pit Mine plan and budget.
  • Provide recommendations into the preparation of open pit capital and operating cost budgets and forecasts and review cost reports and address any budget variances.
  • Lead team performance with regular meetings on an individual and a group basis to set objectives, evaluate performance and provide feedback and support.
  • Provide regular communications and leadership to your team on issues and overall performance of the business.
  • Proactively demonstrate and contribute to safe practices and environmental and Social Responsibility discussions, awareness and practices.
  • Ensure the team safety, environmental, community and production targets are achieved and weekly and monthly plans are delivered at better than Budgeted costs by implementing stretch targets.

Your Skills, Knowledge & Experience Checklist

  • WA Quarry Managers Certificate or equivalent.
  • WA C class driver’s license
  • Diploma in Front Line Management
  • Mining/Civil Engineer degree
  • Competency & proficiency in operating different types of mining equipment.
  • PC skills and digital literacy including experience with Fleet Management, mine planning systems and Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and training databases.
  • Able to multitask and operate in a focused and effective manner for extended time frames.
  • Excellent social skills with the ability to influence, involve and gain the cooperation and consensus of a diverse group.
  • History of developing and contributing to a culture that delivers a high level of safety and production performances from their teams.
  • Mine Production/Engineering experience including several years in a senior supervisory/ engineering position with large owner operated, hard rock truck & shovel operations.
