As an integral part of the Process Operations Team, you will be ensuring the document compliance and shutdown planning process for Process Operations, Gold Recovery and RDA Departments are met. You will be delivering shutdown plans and work packs required for each full plant shutdown, equipment modulars and assist in planning for unscheduled breakdowns. A key part of this role is to coach and mentor crew trainers to ensure high quality consistent and fair training methods are maintained.

 

Specifically, you will

  • Promote and adhere to NBG’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures through consistently demonstrating and encouraging safe work practices.
  • Promote effective Safety and Environmental performance within the work area providing reports on performance and continuous improvement actions to the Process Superintendent as required.
  • Pro-actively follow up actions identified from audits and workplace observations ensuring recommended solutions are implemented to resolve these issues in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety, and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
  • Develop and socialise clear high level project timelines, deliverable to the Processing Superintendents, and Supervisors.
  • Track and audit shutdown timelines and deliverables for improvement opportunities and compliance purposes.
  • Audit classroom and field-based training delivered by the crew trainers.
  • Ensure Process operations and gold recovery are compliant in understanding changes to all Newmont controlled documentation as published. 
  • Updating all relevant processing controlled documents for operations and gold recovery.
  • Manage and Audit process operational learning pathways, training materials, training practices and associated documentation including progression database to view operational training needs analysis.
  • Perform operational supervisor roles as and when required.
  • Provide leadership, technical direction and mentoring of personnel in the performance of their duties.


Who you are.
You will have significant Operational and Supervisory experience in a large-scale processing operation including several years specifically within gold processing. A detailed understanding of auditing, permitting systems and isolations, shutdown planning and be able to read PI&D Drawings is essential. 


You will be a natural leader who is focused on safety and who acts in a manner which demonstrates Newmont’s values and positively impacts the operations safety culture. 


Your excellent communication skills, together with a proven ability to influence, involve and work efficiently across crews will be paramount to your success in this position. 


You will be outcomes focused to ensure team objectives are achieved in a safe and efficient manner and will demonstrate a high degree of personal commitment in regard to Safety, Environmental and Social Responsibility practices.


Formal training qualifications and prior experience developing operational training materials are required for this position.
