The Role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Process Crontrol the Process Control Engineer is responsible for being the single point of contact for crew members to ensure the on-going improvement of the ore processing facility.

This role is based at Boddington on an 8/6 roster.

Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participate effectively in handovers with outgoing and incoming peers
  • Lead effective toolbox meeting for crew to prepare to safely achieve the work of the shift ahead
  • Allocate crew members to required work for the shift to safely meet required outcomes
  • Engage crew members in effective problem solving including using go, look, see, listen to help identify opportunities
  • Monitor leave taken by the crew and manage requests in accordance with the direction set by the Superintendent.
  • Keep a diary/record of significant shift/people events
  • Celebrate the successes of the crew
The Person
  • Excellent communication and team based skills
  • Tertiary Qualification – Diploma or Degree in Control Systems Engineering or related discipline
  • 8-10 Years process control system experience, preferably in the Mining industry
  • 1 to 3 Years experience in gold or base metals and milling operations desirable
  • Process Control System Familiarity (programming / configuration desirable)
  • Knowledge of current leading industry best practices for control systems
  • Knowledge of Yokogawa Centum VP distributed control system and Allen Bradley PLC’s (desirable)
  • Knowledge of OsiSoft PI Historian (desirable)
  • High attention to detail in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Advanced PC skills and computer literacy
