This position offers a 5:2:4:3 roster. Working an 80 hour fortnight, you will have every second Friday off as your RDO as well as Public Holidays - a great work/life balance.


About The Role:
The Superintendent – Geotechnical is responsible for managing personnel and systems and processes for geotechnical data collection and interpretation, design and analysis and the monitoring of ground and slope performance. This role was also be an integral part of the leadership of the Geotechnical team. 


In This Role You Will:

•    Contribute to the organisational culture through performing work duties and interacting with others in accordance with the Newmont Values.
•    Ensure all work activities and plans comply with MSIR Regulation 13.8 and other applicable regulatory requirements.
•    Ensure compliance with the site Geotechnical Management Standard (GMS) thus ensuring compliance to the Newmont Standard.
•    Establish, implement, document and maintain standards, systems and procedures for data collection, data management, data analysis, slope design and design validation
•    Ensure appropriate processes exist for geotechnical review and acceptance of all mining, dump, stockpile, residue disposal and water storage and drainage designs.
•    Promoting safety and standards and implement continuous improvement.
•    Participate and provide leadership in R&D activities of a geotechnical nature

Your Skills, Training & Experience Checklist:

•    Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Geomechanics / Geotechnical / Geological Engineering)
•    15+ years of experience in Engineering, Geotechnical and or Hydrological Engineering
•    Extensive operating experience in large hard rock open pits
•    High level of competence in slope design and risk management. 
•    High level of competence in the use of relevant geotechnical software.
•    Experience motivating and leading a team. 
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Strong teaming skills with determination and commitment to a systematic geotechnical strategy.
