Essential Duties

  • Diagnostic Expertise: Utilize your advanced knowledge of heavy-duty equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a diverse range of heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
  • Technical Analysis: Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements, modifications, or upgrades to enhance productivity, safety, and efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, policies, and regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used, ensuring a thorough and organized documentation process.

Training & Experience

  • Valid certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Coach Technician or Automotive Service Technician.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.

Working Conditions

  • Schedule: Work a 5x5x4 schedule. 
  • Location: This position is located at the Dome site, part of Newmont's Porcupine Mine Site near Timmins, ON. As such, if you do not live near the site, we will require you to relocate.
