About this role

We are currently seeking a professional Senior Human Resources Business Advisor to handle and execute all aspects of Human Resources in support of Newmont’s global Projects team. The role will be responsible for providing quality generalist HR advice and support in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Remuneration & Benefits, Talent Management, Performance Management, Inclusion & Diversity and HR technology to deliver results to our business.
Reporting directly to the Group Executive Human Resources, this is a full time position.  While the primary location for this position is the corporate headquarters based in Denver, qualified candidates in proximity to one of our existing operations or regional offices globally may also be considered.
 

In this role you will

  • Provide trusted HR advice and support to Newmont leaders and employees, providing specialist knowledge regarding legislation and contemporary ER/IR practice in our jurisdictions;  
  • Implement people strategies and solutions to support the Project team’s business objectives;
  • Continually seek to improve HR services and practices by identifying opportunities through analysis, and knowledge of industry best practice;
  • Promote an organizational culture consistent with Newmont values, policy and legislative intent
  • Support and coach leaders in their roles and within the area of HR services and systems available;
  • Ensure education of leaders and employees to ensure understanding of EEO & Harassment and grievance resolution policy and procedures;
  • Conduct HR and Ethics investigations and manage disciplinary activities and procedures;
  • Process termination actions for all terminating employees in line with Newmont and legislative requirements using the support of the relevant service centers in the appropriate jurisdiction.

Your training, skills, & experience checklist

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR / IR or related field
  • Strong HR background, with demonstrated experience working within the jurisdictions in which Projects employees are located or knowing when to reach out to obtain support in an unfamiliar jurisdiction
  • Previous experience as a strategic HR business partner required;
  • Demonstrated experience in organization design & development, including change implementation;
  • Familiarity with related Employee Relations and Workers Compensation legislations;
  • Strong communication skills in coaching and influencing senior business leaders and to drive change;
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel and HR data bases);
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people;
  • Strong decision making orientation; interface effectively with leadership and carry a strong point of view to a positive decision;
  • Ability to resolve conflict;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy;
  • Ability to build strong working relationships;
  • Effective people management and negotiation skills;

  • The primary location for this position is our corporate headquarters in Denver, CO but qualified candidates in proximity to any of our operations or regional offices are encouraged to apply
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, when required, to communicate with stakeholders across time zones in a global environment

The salary range offered for this role is USD $120,480 to 143,070. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.  


This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
