About this role

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

This role’s responsibility is to support Newmont’s External Communications team by storytelling in a way that positively highlights the business across multiple stakeholder audiences. 

 

We are looking for a candidate who has an interest and initial knowledge and/or understanding of the various external communications disciplines ranging from, media relations, social media, crisis and issues, marketing communications, event management and/or brand communications.  

 

Someone who is a self-starter yet embraces standardizing processes in a way that will help the company build and scale over time. This individual will need to quickly embed themselves into Newmont’s business and culture by providing strategic support to the Content management, Media Relations, social media and Events and Measurement teams within External Communications function. 

 

Your role will consist of

 

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

 

  • Work across all External Communications to support in project management, vendor management, researching new tools and systems, and creating new processes  
  • Ideate, plan, create, execute and measure various communications projects  
  • Align closely with stakeholders to deliver content applicable to Newmont’s various internal/external communications channels 
  • Write content for Newmont’s various channels, including drafting, proofreading short-, medium- and long-form content for internal and external audiences ~ with a specific focus on Newmont’s various digital platforms including the website and social media 
  • Create select branded assets and work with brand agency to project manage larger-scale initiatives 
  • Own Newmont’s branded asset management platform by organizing photos, videos and other mediums to support adherence to a one-Newmont brand

Here is what we would need to see from you!

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or other Communications discipline  
  • Min. 3 years of experience in corporate communications, brand communications or marketing communications 
  • Demonstrate strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, including  experience using the Associated Press standard  
  • Experience contributing to or managing digital channels and digital communications  
  • Executing events 
  • Understand of the importance of using data to turn insights into actions 
  • Knowledge of digital trends, tools and data-centric marketing 
  • Experience with graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, marketing automation platforms, website content management systems, SEO and SEM strategies, and social media monitoring tools 
  • Possesses strong research and analytical skills 
  • Organized, process orientated and skilled at project management to effectively direct workflow 
  • Exhibits a customer-centric, service-orientated and growth mindset 
  • Acts as a collaborative team player and is willing to learn  
  • Shows self-motivation and is comfortable with working collaboratively and independently to drive initiatives toward execution and completion  

Working conditions and location

 

  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office; may require extended and unpredictable hours
  • This person may be required to travel domestically and/or internationally

The salary range offered for this role is USD $82,160 - 97,565. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont. 


This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
