Opportunity
The Senior Business Analyst is crucial in supporting Newmont's business operations, directly or indirectly impacting important commercial decisions. This is done through in-depth analysis, strategic advice, and the ongoing enhancement of control and reporting systems. The role is pivotal in driving cost management on site, by identifying, evaluating, and promoting for changes to ensure progressive cost outcomes.

 

Newmont Boddington Gold (NBG) has a combined annual operating and capital expenditure exceeding AU$1 billion.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure timely completion of month-end procedures, serving as a bridge between the on-site Operations team and the regional accounting team to adhere to Newmont's monthly reporting schedule.
  • Lead and drive the Departmental cost review meetings to identify key cost drivers, improvement actions, promote accountability and support department leadership team in decision making. 
  • Understanding of the key cost drivers in processing plant and mobile equipment asset management/maintenance, is desirable.
  • Support in managing and overseeing the site's capital expenditure system and processes.
  • Support supplier contract analysis by providing cost insights and participating in key supplier meetings.
  • Collaborate with contract administrators to review supplier performance, identify cost optimization opportunities, and contribute to improved value creation through strategic sourcing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with site and regional colleagues.

 

About You

  • Tertiary Qualification – Degree in Accounting CA/CPA 
  • Substantial management accounting experience
  • You are dynamic, driven, energetic and have a positive attitude
  • You will be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated Systems experience (BPC Tools, SAP ERP, Microsoft Excel and PowerBI)
